Great news folks! The SONIGait team won yesterday the Lower Austrian Innovation Award in the category Research and Science. The price was handed over in a great award ceremony at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria. We are proud and happy that our project is of such great interest to so many people. Thanks!
We are happy to announce the open-access publication of our SONIGait prototype, titled “SONIGait: a wireless instrumented insole device for real-time sonificationof gait” in the Journal of Multimodal User Interfaces. This article details both the hardware and software of the first prototype along with the result from our first pilot study. The article can […]
Last week, Prototype 2.0 of the SONIGait device was presented at the annual FFH (Forschungsforum der Österreichischen Fachhochschulen) in Vienna, Austria. During the presentation, we introduced to the public, for the first time, the developments that were made since the first prototype.
SONIGait was ranked second place at this years MTD Innovation Awards for being one of the foremost innovative research and development projects in the Austrian Health Field! The SONIGait Project develops a shoe insole, which sonifies a participant’s gait parameters. The participants receive real-time auditory information through headphones regarding whether the forces they are applying […]
Last week the CARMA project with SONIGait was under review from the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) in its third year. CARMA is a project in the program track of COIN Aufbau ( Cooperations & Networks) and was mentioned as a distinguished success story to the program goals. We feel honored.
Yesterday, we got the chance to present our current SONIGaitv2 prototype to the internet of things community at the Austrian IoT Day 2015. The received feedback was highly motivating for further development.
Today, our SONIGait team received some exciting news! We have made it to the final cut, top 3 studies to be selected, for the MTD Innovation Award 2015. We now have the opportunity and the chance to present our SONIGait insoles and research for the top spot!
After intense work during the summer the printed circuit boards arrived and the CARMA Platform v2 is ready. We attached the Sensing Unit to the instrumented insole of the SONIGait project and can now further investigate mobile and real-time acoustic feedback scenarios for gait retraining. Stay tuned.
Last Friday (25.09.15), the SONIGait team introduced the second SONIGait prototype to the public at the annual European Researchers Night in Vienna, Austria. Our newer prototype is a great improvement over the model that was presented at the European Researchers Night 2014. We are looking forward to continuing to introduce our work to the public […]
Today (July 8th, 2015) begins the first of three days of the ICAD Conference in Graz, Austria. Our SONIGait team will be presenting to the scientific community the results of our pilot test for the first SONIGait prototype.
